Truth 21 Conference
Want to challenge your young people to trust God and His Word more? Have Carl & Juan at your church!
If it were up to our secular culture, Truth would become extinct in the 21st century. Thankfully, it is not up to our secular culture—Truth is absolute and comes from God—therefore, it will survive any and all attacks. However, many Christians are being challenged and their faith is being undermined by en ever-growing secular and skeptic culture. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we stand up and proclaim the Truth of God’s Word. Further, we must do so in a relevant way, addressing the modern challenges faced by our youth and our adults as well.
The Truth21 Conference is designed to give your church or group the tools it needs to proclaim the Truth of God’s Word as it relates to the 21st Century. It is specially designed to have talks relevant to the entire family—adults and youth. This conference addresses Truth from the perspective of God’s Word, while also tackling the relevant battlegrounds of media, gaming, and the academy.
Carl Kerby and Juan Valdes are God fearing men who have dedicated their lives in response to God’s calling to equip Christians with the tools they need to honor and serve God with excellence. Combined, Carl and Juan have over 50 years of ministry experience and it will show, as they bless your group with insightful, informative, interactive, and engaging presentations.
Motivating
These talks are highly engaging. You will find yourself motivated to dig deeper into God’s Word, work hard at living by God’s Word and you will be emboldened to share God’s Word.
Reassuring
Doubts certainly creep in when we are constantly bombarded with arguments against God, but they will dissipate as the Truth of God is presented and answers are provided. Hearing good answers to the tough questions about God can have a tremendous impact on building and solidifying the faith of your church or group.
Conference Topics
Has God Spoken?
How do we know God exists? What we know about God is based on what He has revealed about Himself. This talk focuses on the various ways God has revealed Himself to man. In the process, atheism and agnosticism are refuted. Furthermore, emphasis is placed on the supremacy of the Bible as God’s ultimate revelation.
Genesis Matters!
In today’s culture we are losing so many young people who were raised in the church. In this talk, Carl discusses the “when” and “why” of this problem using research done on 20 years old’s who were raised in the conservative church and have walked away. He then looks to the importance of the book of Genesis for the solution.
Engaging Culture: Faith vs. Science
Are faith and science irreconcilable? Is it an either/or dilemma? If you listen to modern skeptics, science and faith have nothing in common. Our culture promotes the idea that intelligent people pursue science while the ignorant pursue faith. If you are a Christian, that places you squarely in the camp of the dumb, the uneducated, and the fanatical people that believe in the myths and fables of the Bible. How do we respond to this attack? This talk engages the argument by clarifying the meaning of the words “Faith” and “Science.” In addition, the notion of irreconcilability is proven to be erroneous. This talk equips your church or group with the tools to demolish this dangerous attack.
Remote Control: Critically Evaluating What We Are Watching!
As Christians in the world today we are often so used to the teaching of millions of years and evolution that we no longer notice how often the agenda is pushed through our media. Currently, our children spend 900 hours a year in a school and the same student typically spends 1064 hours in front of a TV! In this talk, Carl shows just how much indoctrination is taking place in TV, movies, shows, and even comic books. The label ‘family friendly’ even contains blatant teachings that undermine our young people’s ability to trust in the Word of God. This talk will help Christians turn on their ‘radar’ so they can catch these falsehoods and use the media as a way to start communicating the truth of God’s Word.
Is the God of the Old Testament a Moral Monster?
One of the most common objections to Christianity today is found in the rhetoric of the new atheists and their depiction of God as a moral monster, particularly God as He is revealed in the Old Testament. This talk addresses the problem from a sound biblical and theological perspective. A number of interpretation tools are provided for approaching and resolving most of the difficult passages in the Old Testament.
Remote Control: Critically Evaluating What We Are Playing!
The average time a “gamer” spends playing video games is 18 hours a week, or 936 hours a year! This time, while less than that in front of a TV set, is very influential because video games are not ‘passive,’ like watching a TV show. In this talk, Carl shares what many of the most popular games are teaching about the God, the Bible, Christians, and Jesus and how to deal with these issues while training children to confront the culture they live in. Carl will challenge young people to become more aware of what they are allowing to infiltrate their minds and motivate parents to confront these issues head on.
