Know It, Live It, Share It Conference
Know it! Live it! Share it! Carl and Juan will equip you to do just that!
There are three clear dimensions to the Christian life. The first dimension involves our acquiring knowledge. God’s Word clearly demands that we KNOW the truths that God has revealed in the Bible. The second dimension involves daily living. Once again, God’s Word clearly states that we are to be “doers” of the Word and not just “hearers.” Finally, the third dimension involves sharing. God never intended for our faith to be private. All throughout the New Testament, God instructs us to boldly proclaim the “Good News” to this dark world we live it. Each of these facets of the Christian Life are essential and work together for the expansion of God’s Church. If we are lacking in any one of these dimensions, our effectiveness in fulfilling our mission will be completely lost.
Reasons for Hope has designed this conference to equip Christians with the tools they need to be effective members of the Body of Christ.
The KLS Conference offers you an opportunity to evaluate your Christian walk and to solidify all three dimensions in order to make you an effective “light” in this lost world.
Carl Kerby and Juan Valdes are God fearing men who have dedicated their lives in response to God’s calling to equip Christians with the tools they need to honor and serve God with excellence. Conference Topics
The Three Chairs
On fire, lukewarm or rebellious? There’s one gospel, but three responses. Juan Valdes illustrates the responses using three chairs and asks, “In which chair do you sit?” In this talk, Juan looks at the condition of our country and the condition of God’s Kingdom on earth. Why is our country in a downward spiral of rebelling against God? Why are there so many Christian who profess Christ with their lips but don’t live like they know Him? This talk convicts and challenges Christians and non-believers alike with biblical truths about Who Christ is and what their response should be to His love and grace. Juan focuses on Reasons for Hope’s mission to equip and encourage Christians to Know it! Live it! and Share it! and to be a testimony and witness to the those who do not know Christ (yet). This is a powerful message that will challenge everyone….your church needs to hear this.
Becoming Bold
The church is losing its next generation at an alarming rate. Anywhere from 50 to 88 percent of the young people raised in Bible-believing Christian homes walk away from the church after age 18. In this talk, Carl examines the causes of this huge exodus, but then shows that by starting with the Bible, solutions can be offered to this massive problem in the church. Teaching just Bible stories to our children isn’t working; young people in our churches need to know how to stand uncompromisingly on the authority and accuracy of the Bible so that they can answer the skeptical questions of the age.
What ever Happened to Truth?
Christianity is not a flavor of ice cream. Its truthfulness is not a matter of taste or opinion. This talk addresses the importance of understanding the difference between propositions that are Absolute Truth and propositions that are subjective/relative in nature. In a culture that is saturated with relativism, God’s Word and the Gospel of Jesus Christ must not be relegated to the status of personal taste and personal opinion. This workshop establishes the logical foundation of Absolute Truth and then equips the listener with the tools required to debunk relativism regarding truth.
Is “The Bible” Biblical?
The History Channel’s hit show, “The Bible” was watched by millions. In this talk Carl and the audience will critically evaluate the first 5 minutes of this blockbuster. It takes almost 1 hour to talk about the first 5 minutes!! Come prepared to think because this is a talk that will help you put into practice what Carl is calling Christians to do more of which is to critically evaluate what we are watching. When we start doing this we are able to use the media as a tool to teach truth and discernment.
Engaging Culture: It’s Not Optional
God has called us to engage culture. Jesus’ words could not be clearer when He called upon us to be “the light of the world” and “the salt of the earth.” Paul admonishes Christians to “demolish arguments” and to “take every thought captive.” Peter exhorts us to be ready at all times to “give a reason for the hope that you have.” Engaging culture is not optional for Christians. This workshop equips the listeners with the tools that will help them boldly and confidently engage their culture with the Truth of God’s Word! It’s time to step outside of the temples and hit the streets, the market place, the media, schools, universities, and the work place with the LIGHT of God’s Word.
Evangelism 101
One of the most effective tools anyone can use to share the Gospel with the world today is conversation. In this talk, Carl uses clips from a popular TV program from Showtime where entertainers Penn and Teller attack Christianity and the Bible. Carl explains how to approach and answer the attacks leveled against Christians and shows where the “power of conversation” can lead. This presentation will help and challenge audiences to be both real and relevant as they learn to talk with, not at, people in order to impact the culture.
