Rumors of God’s death are greatly exaggerated. God is alive and well. Further, God has designed this world to depend on Him. Attempting to live life as if there is no God has dire consequences. A careful consideration of the Asian and European countries that “buried God” and turned to atheism will leave us no doubt that the price to pay for such a “funeral” is overwhelming. This talk focuses on the aftermath of turning away from God. Once this path is taken, the steps to destruction are clear and the devastation inevitable. This talk equips the listener with the arguments and historical evidence that life without God is not worth living!
Are You “Full-Code” or “Comfort Measures”?
Do you have a “full-code” or “Comfort Measures” faith? This talk is based on an actual experience Carl had with a dear friend who is a heart doctor. After making the rounds with his friend Carl was challenged when he met a man who was about to lose his wife. The Bible tells us that our life is like a vapor and this experience reinforced the truth of this teaching. Carl shares the experience and the biblical application.
The Case for Theism and the Existence of God
The cumulative case for God’s existence is overwhelming. This talk is designed to present the four classical arguments for God’s existence. Each argument (Design, Creation, Morality, and Being) is presented clearly and the main objections to the arguments are considered and debunked. God’s existence will be established beyond a reasonable doubt. This talk will equip Christians with the tools they need to engage our culture.
Answering Skeptics… Richard Dawkins!
Richard Dawkins is one of the most antagonistic of the “new atheists”. In this talk Carl takes a video that Dr. Dawkins made where he ambushed then President of Concerned Women for America, Wendy Wright, and addresses the questions that he raised. Christians need to be aware that if Richard Dawkins is using an argument, hundreds of those that follow his every move will use it. Using secular sources Carl will show that the claims that he makes are not that difficult to give an answer to. The problem is not in the evidence, the problem is in the interpretation of the evidence.
Is the God of the Old Testament a Moral Monster?
One of the most common objections to Christianity today is found in the rhetoric of the new atheists and their depiction of God as a moral monster, particularly God as He is revealed in the Old Testament. This talk addresses the problem from a sound biblical and theological perspective. A number of interpretation tools are provided for approaching and resolving most of the difficult passages in the Old Testament.
Answering Skeptics… Bill Nye!
Bill Nye has become popular again recently. He did a “big talk” video where he went after those that don’t believe in evolution in a major way. In this talk Carl will break down that video and address his claims. In addition questions that he raised will be addressed using secular sources. What does he mean by “evolution”? Are “tiny changes” the mechanism by which a worm eventually turned into humans? How are mutations involved in that process? Can a “Christian” really do “science”? What about “ancient dinosaur bones”? Don’t they show Christians are wrong?
Five Reasons Why I’m Not and Atheist
