Fishface?
Sometimes you just gotta’ wonder what’s going on! This is one of those times for me.
“Hey Fishface!”
You’re probably much nicer than I was before coming to Christ, but that’s something that I would have said to someone B.C. (Before Christ) to make fun of them.
Well, according to an article that I just read in The Washington Times today there’s truth in that statement. The headline reads:
“Evolutionists say human face came from 415 million-year-old fish”
(read the article)
Yep, you got it, we finally found the fish ancestor where our faces comes from!
I use this article as a conversation starter and as a way to transition to sharing the truth of God’s Word when someone tells me about the “fact” of evolution.
In the article we’re told that Swedish and French researchers say that the formation of the human face goes back to a very special fish named Romundina, (can we call her “Romy” just to make it a little more personal), that swam in the oceans 415 million-years-ago.
They also say that this fish didn’t have a “backbone”! Well, that fits with some folks that I’ve met so that part may be true. (I honestly try to use those little quips to keep things light and have a little fun with it. I try very hard not to be disrespectful. Flippant, yes, mean spirited, no!)
This team scanned the fossils that they found into a computer and then digitally created the anatomy of Romy and found that she had an armored body, a flexible back end and a curious “upper-lip.” (Now we know where Elvis got the ability to curl his lip, right!)
I always challenge folks to “think critically” and to ask a simple question when new headlines, photo’s or video is released “proving” that we “evolved” from one thing or another. That question we should ask is, “Where’s the beef?” (I love Clara and Wendy’s if you can’t tell.)
What I mean by that question is that you need to know the actual evidence that was found, “the beef”, in order to come up with their interpretation. If you don’t know what it is, you can be deceived.
Well, what’s the “evidence” to support this claim? Are you ready for this? Before I share the actual evidence to support this claim please read just one more quote:
“When you look at Romundina, it’s like looking at yourself in the mirror, but with a 415 million-year-old image,” Vincent Dupret of Uppsala, another of the researchers, said in a telephone interview. “It’s like in a science-fiction movie. You look at the mirror, but it’s not you. It’s your ancestor.”
The Washington Times, February 13, 2014
(Try using that line on your wife this Valentines day. My dear, you look just like a fish!! You might not like the response.) Well, all I can say is this, if you are looking at the evidence that I’m going to show you and it looks like you’re looking at yourself in a mirror, you need help! See for yourself:
No, I did not go on Facebook and find one of my old old high school photo’s, that’ Romy!
Seriously, that’s it? That’s the amazing evidence that proves that human’s faces evolved from a fish? Yes, it is.
In addition, when you read the article they tell you that the evidence they started with for this astounding, world-changing find was a . . . “partial jaw”! Please keep that in mind the next time you read the huge headlines telling us that evolution is a fact.
Look how they ended the article:
“The findings are in conflict with the biblically-based creationist view of life, which says humans were formed by God . . .”
Ya’ think!! Personally, I think I’ll pass and stick with what the evidence fully supports. And that’s that there is a God who Created the way that He said that He did. The creation screams it. That is unless you refuse to see.
Please pray for me, as you can tell, I need it. Share these thought provokers with someone today. Anyway, it’s just another Random Thought!
Stay Bold!
