UK Ministry Tour Pt. 2
Thanks for tuning in for more on the UK Tour 2013! I finished last week with the story from Bridge Lane Christian Fellowship. Today I’ll fill you in on the rest of the trip.
May 20th – Trevor and Maggie took me to a place we’ve been a few times, Hopefield Evangelical Church in Sheffield! These are dear folks who treat us so well every time we’ve been there. You can watch the video blog I did while there. We had a great turn out and the fellowship was so encouraging.
May 21st – We went to New Brighton where I met Pastor Phil. The church has a Coffee Shop and a small Christian Book store they use to reach out to people in their community. That night the Chairman of the Board of AiG UK, Ian McNaughton, and his dear wife, attended my talk. It was good to catch up with them and hear how the Lord is working through their efforts.
May 22nd – We went to the Manchester Museum of Natural History. I took a LOT of pictures and video, which I’ll be using in future talks. That night we were in Southport. What a meeting!! About 20 folks attended and I spoke on “10 Things a Christian Can Learn About Evangelism: From an Atheist!” We had a great Q & A afterward. This turned out to be one of the most special events of the whole tour even though it was probably one of the smallest attended. Perhaps because it was one of the most mature groups — there’s always wisdom and insight that comes with age.
May 23rd – We had our longest drive on this day when we went to Bath. No, not took a bath… we went to Bath!!! What a neat event. We had folks from a few churches, including one church that brought some of their young adults. After the talk I was challenged by some mature ladies who just couldn’t accept God! It was a great challenge and the conversations were pleasant. They asked very good, pointed questions.
May 24th – The church that was scheduled for this day cancelled, but the Lord opened the door for us to speak in a school in Manchester. So we drove all the way back up to Manchester! The young folks who attended were an encouragement for me; and many of their parents came with them for this special session.
May 25th & 26th AM – Reddish Christian Fellowship, what more can I say! The dear people at Reddish have been a huge blessing to rforh and me personally over the years. They welcome us every time I’m in the UK and love on us like few other places. I’m always blessed to see Roy and Trish, Eunice and Martin, Graham etc. They are dear people and I love being with them.
May 26th PM – We went back to Heaton Chapel Christian Church in the evening. They are doing a great work and are reaching out to their community. Please pray for the senior pastor. His foot had to be amputated due to difficulties with diabetes! He’s moving around, but it’s still a challenge for him.
May 27th – We finished up at Westcliff Free Church in Essex. All I can say is what a blessing to be there….and what a blessing the entire trip was to be able to serve.
We’re now scheduled for the next two years to go back to the UK. Thank you again for supporting us so that we can do this kind of international outreach. Let us know what we can do to serve you or to keep you updated.
Stay bold,
Carl & the rforh Team!
