Everyday Evangelism: Are YOU ready?
Turn every day situations and circumstances into opportunities to share the Gospel!
In December, my wife and I were standing at the curb outside of a hotel waiting for a taxi. I was chatting with Manuel, the man who called the taxi for us, when I looked across the street and on the curb saw an empty stick hut.
I looked at Manuel and asked, “What’s the stick hut for Manuel?” He responded, “That’s for the Nativity statues.” I looked at Manuel and said, “But, there’s no Jesus in there Manuel!” He responded, “Oh, that’s o.k., Jesus is coming soon!”
Now I know he was referring to the fact that the statues were going to be placed in the stick hut soon, but to me, BAM! — I saw my opportunity to share.
I began, “Manuel, that’s so true, Jesus is coming soon, are you ready?” And we then continued to talk.
Now, let me ask you that question, “Are you ready?”
We just finished celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas. Think about how amazing that is! God, the one who spoke everything into existence, loved us so much that He came to earth and took on human form!! Wow!
Our Creator, was born a baby, grew to adulthood, lived a perfect, sinless life and then offered Himself up, dying the death we should have died, to pay the penalty for OUR sins and to make it possible for us to have eternal life with Him.. Again I say, Wow!
Now we get to what I meant by my question, “Are you ready?”
One day EVERYONE will stand before the Lord. Will you be ready?
If you don’t know Jesus Christ, you aren’t ready — but we would love to help you. Email us at hope@rforh.com with any questions you might have. We’ll send you some information about how only Jesus can prepare you to be ready. He loves you and He desires to have a relationship with you. Start getting ready now!
If you do know Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, but still don’t feel ready, we’d like to challenge you to move forward more faithfully in building your relationship with Him. Belonging to Jesus means that you already are ready. If you don’t feel that, then you need to find assurance.
So we challenge you to get ready…today!
Oh, yeah….about Manuel. He never really answered the question. He had some faith and understanding about Jesus, but from our discussion I was left wondering if he’s really ready. Please pray for him.
Stay Bold!
